When did the Essex Yeoman become The Junction?
And has it dropped the Essex bit because it's now considered to be in east London?

Just had a look at their website which emphasises the food aspect. To most of us it's a pit stop on the way home after a game.

That was back in 1968 Eddie when I lived there. Were you even alive then?

Re: When did the Essex Yeoman become The Junction?
Upminster Tap is opening this Saturday, 21st Nov, according to their facebook page.

Sounds like a compromise was made, in regards to getting an A3 license "snack bar/cafe, with an alcohol licence"

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..... at 1b Sunnyside Gdns Upminster. Opening to the public on Saturday 21st November at 11am. Havering Council have granted us Permitted Development to operate as A3 snack bar/cafe, with an alcohol licence. We will be serving great cheese boards, pork pies, scotch eggs (locally sourced), door step sandwiches and breakfast items.
All this served with tea, great choice in coffee, soft drinks, real ale, cider (mainly locally sourced) and wine. We are looking forward to you joining us."

Re: When did the Essex Yeoman become The Junction?
Anyone know the story behind that? And why it's been there since (I assume) the 1980s, with no one bothering to get rid of it?

Not been to Upminster since about 2008 but it was definitely still there then.
